Male Wigeon – blue leg ring ‘88’, was ringed on the Longton marsh near Preston, Lancashire in March 2023, and was not seen again until 7 February 2025 when he was spotted on 4G camera(s) on the Longton marsh. He was then seen again on 27 Feb 2025 and 3 March 2025 on the same camera(s). His journey ended when he returned again several months later during the 2025/26 wildfowling season when he was shot in November 2025 – on Longton marsh – the very marsh he was ringed at.
